Operational outcomes

Infrastructure software—not installer marketing

Four outcomes operators care about. One EMS platform behind them.

TOU · arbitrage · demand

Reduce energy costs

Peak shaving, tariff optimisation, and export management—automated dispatch that responds to price signals and site constraints.

BESS · solar · CHP · EV

Control every asset

BESS, solar, CHP, EV charging, and generators orchestrated from one operational layer with real-time telemetry.

G99 · G100 · export caps

Stay grid compliant

G99/G100 alignment, export limits, and DNO coordination enforced in software—not spreadsheets after energisation.

Fleet · portfolio · SLA

Operate at fleet scale

Multi-site telemetry, aligned dispatch, and portfolio reporting for operators running dozens of UK assets.

ArcGrid EMS platform

Operational intelligence for every asset

Time-of-use, forecasts, export limits, fleet dispatch, and alerts—on dashboards operators actually use.

  • Time-of-use (TOU) optimisation

Align import, storage, and dispatch with time-of-use tariffs—charge when power is cheap, discharge or load-shift when it is expensive, automatically.

  • Solar export & zero-export control

Manage export to grid and zero-export regimes—stay within DNO limits while maximising self-consumption and safe export when allowed.

  • Solar & wind predictions

Forecast solar and wind output so BESS dispatch, trading, and grid applications are based on what generation will do—not just what it did yesterday.

  • On-site loss accounting

Calculate losses and auxiliary power used by the system on site—so reported performance, supplier data, and commercial models reflect real net energy, not optimistic gross figures.

  • BESS supplier & asset coordination

Connect forecasts, limits, and operational data to BESS suppliers and integrators—one coherent dataset for sizing, warranty, and performance discussions.

  • Solar grid applications end-to-end

Support solar teams putting forward DNO grid connection requests—with technical data, export assumptions, and EMS configuration aligned to what gets approved.

FAQ

EMS, BESS, grid & DNO

Common questions from facilities and asset teams.

What is energy management software?
Energy management software (EMS) is a platform that monitors, controls, and optimises electricity across your sites. It connects generation, battery storage, grid import/export, and load so you can cut costs, improve resilience, and participate in energy markets from one system.
How is an energy management system different from a BMS?
A building management system (BMS) focuses on HVAC and facilities. An energy management system (EMS) focuses on power assets—BESS, solar, CHP, generators, wind, and grid connection—and commercial outcomes such as peak shaving, microgrids, and trading.
Do you support single sites and fleet systems?
Yes. We deliver energy management software for single-site BESS and EMS installations and for multi-site fleets—unified insights, control, and expert advice across your portfolio from one UK-built platform.
What if our battery or inverter manufacturer is new to you?
We support a very wide range of manufacturers. If your equipment is new to ArcGrid EMS, we will add the control integration free of charge—you are not charged extra simply because we have not integrated that OEM before.
What alert and reporting channels do you support?
Critical infrastructure alerts can go to SMS, email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Discord, and other platforms via integrations. We also deliver scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly operational insights—not only alarms when something goes wrong.
What optimisation does your EMS perform on site?
Including time-of-use (TOU) optimisation, solar export and zero-export control, solar and wind predictions, on-site loss calculation, and coordination with BESS suppliers—plus DNO grid applications and live fleet or single-site control.
